The Family Room is administered by Cornell University's Cooperative Extension of Schenectady County

Family Room program established in the Scotia-Glenville Central School District

Program available to parents on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Young Scotia-Glenville parents now have a resource for all of their questions and concerns about children and parenting at the new Scotia Glenville Family Room, housed at Lincoln Elementary School.
The school district received funding from the Cornell Cooperative Extension to begin the program.
The room, #17 in the primary wing at Lincoln, will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. No appointments are needed. Parents and other visitors should sign in at the Lincoln office.
“It can be very isolating for parents of young children who have a lot of questions,” said Kris Gregory, who will staff the Family Room. “This space provides an area for parents to receive educational materials, participate in workshops and learn what they need to get their children ready for school.”
“We are very happy to be able to offer this program to the Scotia-Glenville community,” said Joseph Kavanaugh, director of curriculum and instruction. “This will be a tremendous benefit to the young families in our district.”
Kavanaugh also feels it will be a great place for parents to get together and share ideas with each other.
