197 students to perform in Districtwide Strings Concert March 30

The combined Orchestras of the Scotia-Glenville Central Schools will hold their sixth Districtwide String Festival on Tuesday, March 30 at 7 PM in the High School auditorium.

All students in grades 4-12, who participate in a school orchestra, will be involved in the concert.

The elementary orchestra is under the direction of Lorelei Heidenstrom and will include selections for the 4th grade string students and 5th grade string students. The elementary students will perform together “Happy Dance.”

The secondary groups are under the direction of Cheryl Ferraro. The Middle School 6th graders will perform “Hail the Conquering Hero” and “Frog in a Tree.” The 7th and 8th grade Orchestra will perform “Waltz Triptych” and “Danse.” The High School orchestra will perform “Disney Classics” and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.”

The select High School Chamber Orchestra will perform “Palladio” and “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.”

The entire group will come together to perform “The Elephant Takes a Walk” and “Ode to Joy.”

There will be 197 students participating in this special performance. The program is free and the public is invited to attend.
