           Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for the overnight trip of the Glendaal Elementary School Fifth Grades and chaperones to Frost Valley YMCA Environmental Education Center, Claryville, New York – June 3 through June 5, 2009.

           Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Resolution contained in the Report of Tax Collections for 2008-2009.

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the Budget Appropriation Status and Revenue Status Reports for 2008-2009 Fiscal Year, as submitted.

           a.      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the revised date of resignation of Katherine Maggs, Special Education Teacher (Middle School), from effective c.o.b. November 5, 2008, to effective c.o.b. November 6, 2008, with appreciation for her service to the district.

 

           b.      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Katharine Cancelliere, Teacher Aide (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective c.o.b. November 30, 2008, in order for her to accept her new position of Teaching Assistant.

 

           c.      Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Irene R. Trudell, Elementary Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective c.o.b. June 30, 2008, with appreciation for her service to the district.        

 

           d.      Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Deborah S. White, Elementary Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective c.o.b. June 30, 2008, with appreciation for her service to the district.

          

                 13. Report of Superintendent

 

           a. Staffing

 

                                1)     Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the revised list of Administrators’ Salaries for 2008-2009, dated November 17, 2008, as submitted.

 

                  2)     Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Kevin G. Warren as Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Middle School), effective November 18, 2008 through November 17, 2011, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the annual rate of $42,219 (Step 5). Mr. Warren has initial certification.

 

                  3)     Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Benjamin T. Early as Science Teacher (Biology) (Senior High School), effective November 24, 2008 through June 30, 2009, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the rate of $16,438.80 (Step 2 +M +22, 40%). Mr. Early has initial certification.

 

           4)      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education rescind the probationary appointment of Karolean Newton as Typist (Districtwide), and further grant her a temporary appointment to the same position, in accordance with Civil Service Regulations, effective October 28, 2008 through November 17, 2008, with no change in current rate of pay and hours/week.

 

                  5)    Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Karolean Newton as Typist (Districtwide), in accordance with Civil Service Regulations, effective November 18, 2008, with no change in current rate of pay and hours/week.

 

                  6)    Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Katharine Cancelliere as Teaching Assistant (Lincoln Elementary School), effective December 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the annual rate of $17,326.40 (Step 1, 6.5 hours/day). Ms. Cancelliere has a Level One Teaching Assistant certification.

 

7)     Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following additional supplemental appointments for the 2008-2009 school year:
