4. Adopt the Revised 2008-2009 School Calendar
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the revised 2008-2009 school calendar, as submitted.
5. Ratification of Memorandum of Agreement with the Scotia-Glenville TeachersÕ Association Teaching AssistantsÕ Unit
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education ratify the Memorandum of Agreement, dated July 28, 2008, with the Scotia-Glenville TeachersÕ Association Teaching AssistantsÕ Unit, for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2011, as submitted, and further authorize the Superintendent to sign the contract.
6. Appoint Board of Education Policy Subcommittee Members
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the following Board of Education members be appointed as members of the Board of Education Policy Subcommittee for the 2008-2009 school year:

7. Adopt the Policy Statement for 2008-2009 Free and Reduced Price Meals or Free Milk
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Free and Reduced Price Meals or Free Milk Policy Statement and authorize the School Board President to sign the Certificate of Acceptance.
8. Approve Extension of Contract for School Food Service Management
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the extension of the contract for School Food Service Management, as submitted.
9. School Lunch/Breakfast Price List
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the School Lunch and Breakfast Price list for 2008-2009, as submitted.
10. Resolution: Ice Hockey Merger
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated July 28, 2008, authorizing the merger agreement with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for an interscholastic ice hockey team, as submitted.
11. Routine Business
a. Staffing
1) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the 2008-2009 salary of Joseph Kavanaugh, Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Districtwide) at the annual rate of $122,500, effective July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
2) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Gina M. Nielsen as Science Teacher (Biology) (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the rate of $19,413.20 (Step 8 +M +6, 40%). Ms. Nielsen has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
3) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the increase in assignment of Beth M. Collins, part-time Art Teacher (Glen-Worden) from
40% (Step 3 +M +18½) with 2008-2009 salary at the annual rate of $16,642 to 60% (Step 3 +M + 18½), with 2008-2009 salary to be at the annual rate of $24,963, effective September 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
4) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part time appointment of Dawn McCarthy as Teacher Aide (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective September 3, 2008 through June 30, 2009, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the hourly rate of $9.00 (31.75 hours/week).
5) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Rock A. Loiselle as Senior Automotive Mechanic (Transportation), in accordance with Civil Service regulations, effective July 29, 2008, with 2008-2009 salary to be at the annual rate of $43,014.40 (Step 1, $20.68/hour).
6) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following additional employee for Seasonal Supplemental Help (Laborers, Cleaners) (Buildings and Grounds), with the hourly rate to be in accordance with the current contract with Local 766:
