Special Meeting Minutes
A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District was held in the Library Media Center of the Middle School, in said district on June 23, 2008.
President of the Board of Education Margaret Smith called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

PRESENTATION OF NYSSBA DEVELOPMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT CITATION TO GARY
NORMINGTON, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER
President Smith presented Gary Normington with the NYSSBA Developmental Achievement Citation.
FEEDBACK REGARDING COMMUNITY FORUMS
Superintendent Swartz reported to the Board on the Community Forums that were held on June 19 and June 21. The Board offered feedback on the community input. They will continue to discuss building project options and will hold more forums at a later date.
REVIEW OF BUILDING CONDITION SURVEY NEEDS AT GLENDAAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Don Petersen, Director of Facilities and Operations, gave a brief power point presentation to the Board on repairs that are needed at Glendaal Elementary School. The Board asked several questions of Mr. Petersen and thanked him for his report.
DISCUSSION AND APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT FOR OUTSIDE AGENCIES TO UTILIZE
DISTRICT OWNED BUSES
MOVED by Yagielski that the Board of Education approve the agreement between the Scotia
Glenville Central School District and qualifying Outside Agencies to utilize district owned buses on a
request basis, as submitted.

2) Approve the probationary appointment of Tana L. Case as Elementary Teacher (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2010, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 5 +M +18 when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Case has conditional initial certification.
3) Approve the probationary appointment of Molly M. Irvine as a Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Middle School), effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2010, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 5 +M + 43 when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Irvine has initial certification.
4) Approve the probationary appointment of Jill Tyler as Social Studies Teacher (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2011, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 1 +M +23 (1/3) when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Tyler has initial certification in process.
5) Approve the probationary appointment of Bridget A. Crowley as Elementary Teacher (Lincoln Elementary School), effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2011, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 1 +18 when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Crowley has initial certification.
6) Approve the probationary appointment of Annette M. Boland as Elementary Teacher (Glendaal Elementary School, effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2011, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 2 +M when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Boland has initial certification.
7) Approve the probationary appointment of Katherine Jahn as Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish) (Districtwide), effective September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2011, with 2008-2009 salary to be at Step 2 +M +10 when teachersÕ salaries for 2008-2009 are set. Ms. Jahn has initial certification.
8) Terminate the provisional appointment of Janice Balch as Executive Secretary II (District Office), and grant her a probationary appointment to the same position, in accordance with Civil Service regulations, effective June 17, 2008, with no change in 2007-2008 per annum salary.
9) Terminate the temporary appointment of Cynthia A. Dorazio as Executive Secretary I (Guidance Office) (Senior High School), and grant her a probationary appointment to the same position, in accordance with Civil Service regulations, effective June 17, 2008, with no change in 2007-2008 per annum salary.

15) Approve the appointment of Robert Beedleson as District Printer, effective July 1, 2008, at the hourly rate of $15.61
16) Approve the appointment of Timothy Pink as District Printer, effective July 1, 2008, at the hourly rate of $13.79.
17) That the following be appointed as secondary summer school teachers with salary to be at the rate of $1,400 for first year teachers, $1,440 for second year teachers, and $1,510 for third year teachers, $1,580 for fourth year teachers, and $1,650 for five consecutive years or more, provided that student registration is sufficient for the proposed courses:
