In case you didn't hear, Scotia-Glenville was ranked 13th out of 85 area school disticts by the Capital District Business Review in its Sept. 26 issue. Last year, S-G ranked 19th.

Building project update: Oct. 20

The Board of Education will meet at
7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20 at the Middle School to continue discussion of the buidling project.

Board members expect to have updated financial and architectural information by that time. The board may also adopt resolutions to move the project foward.

The updated information would be from Fiscal Advisors, the district's financial planning firm, and the district's architect firm, Mosaic Associates.

A public vote is tentatively set for Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Because of rising food prices, school lunch, milk and a-la-carte prices to increase slightly in September 2008.

The Board of Education has asked Superintendent Susan Swartz to gather costs related to a building project to be considered by the community tentatively on Dec. 9.

Scotia-Glenville Needs Your Help!

The Board of Education held two community forums to hear comments about the facilities needs to be considered in the upcoming building project.

Here is a summary of the comments made at both community forums.

A forum was held on June 19. Check out the Daily Gazette story.

Superintendent Susan Swartz begins the forums with this PowerPoint presentation followed by a discussion.

The Board of Education has been studying the needs at the six school buildings for the past several months and a December 2008 vote on a project is likely. The last building improvement project at Scotia-Glenville was in 1999.
