Scotia-Glenville Middle School is located on Prestige Parkway approximately half a mile northwest of the village of Scotia, New York. The school is set in a suburban setting surrounded by open space used for sports fields and adjacent to an industrial park that is a major part of the economic success in Scotia.
The middle school building was completed in 1974 originally as a Junior High School, but then became a Middle School in 2002. The Middle School has also had several major renovations over the years with the most recent being the 2010 building project in which the Library Media Center was updated and the 2017 building project in which the science labs were updated.
The school is home to approximately 650 students in grades 6-8 as well as 150 skilled and dedicated teachers and non-instructional staff members.
Our goal is to provide exceptional services and programming in an academically rich and nurturing environment in which everyone is encouraged to learn and grow.
Academic excellence is stressed at our school along with an emphasis on character development. We look at the whole child and try to help each one develop socially, emotionally, physically and academically. With academics being the priority, students are also encouraged to become involved in the school community through sports, clubs, service organizations, and various school activities.
In 2017, Scotia-Glenville Middle School was designated as a “No Place for Hate” school with Gold Star honors.
There is a wide array of clubs and activities for students to experience.
The school community is proud of its students, parents, faculty and staff. We believe that it takes the effort of the community in the education process in order to create a safe environment for everyone to learn. We offer a unique and welcoming experience in our school for all students and believe that it is a great place to learn, grow, and prepare for the next level of education.
