Scotia-Glenville varsity wrestling team took home the first place trophy at the Doc Davis Memorial Duals in Duanesburg this weekend.
The Tartans were led by impressive individual rankings of Alwalid Bourkia, Ethan Robar and Aydin Baldwin all going 6-0 on the day – each with multiple wins by fall.
Tanner Knaggs, Kaleb Sweeney and Devan Zinzow each had five individual wins on the day with multiple wins by fall. Kaydence Proulx, Sam Watson, and Nikolas Finn each earned three individual wins on the day.
All these efforts helped the team win five out of six matches on the day.
“I am proud of each and every one of the wrestlers,” said Coach Joshua Culora. “We had great support from the entire team and that showed in how we performed on Saturday. Coach Steve Rumfelt and I can’t wait to coach them for the rest of the season and know they can only go up from here.”
