Dear SG Families,
Our first annual Districtwide K-5 Science Fair will take place at the Middle School on March 5!
The purpose of the Science Fair is to encourage students to apply the scientific method to a science topic that interests them, and have fun in the process! Each participant will work through their grade level version of the scientific method, outlined on this Science Fair flyer, and present their work on a tri-fold poster. The poster should include the title of the project and the name and grade of the student scientist. Students should be ready to talk about what they learned to a small group of Science Fair Advisors at the fair. Each participant will receive a Science Fair ribbon, compliments of our PTA Council.
Registration: All participants in our Science Fair must complete this Registration Google Form. The deadline to register is February 9.
Optional Project Help Night: There will be a Science Fair Help Night on February 15, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, in the Middle School Cafeteria. Students are welcome to bring their projects to receive support from High School Science Club or National Honor Society students. The help night is not required but is available for any students who would like additional support with their projects.
Science Fair Details: Project posters should be brought to the Middle School Gym between 5:30-6:00 pm on March 5 for setup. The Science Fair will run from 6:00-7:00 pm. Pizza and snacks will be sold by the PTA Council that evening. At 7:00 pm, all participants are invited to attend a special interactive presentation of interesting live creatures in the Middle School Auditorium, presented by Unchartered Wild.
