Four alumni from the class of 1938 to 2001 are new Scotia-Glenville Athletic Hall of Famers

A S-G teacher and coach who has trained and mentored hundreds of S-G athletes to achieve their personal bests over the last 25 years, has been inducted into the 2024 S-G Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach James Krogh was a 1987 graduate, a Tartan running back and outstanding runner with a specialty in the 400 and 800. Coach Krogh joined three other outstanding athletic alumni recipients that were selected by the S-G Athletic Hall of Fame Committee after an open nomination process.

2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Lawrence (Bud) Geiger from the class of 1938 is also a two-time Purple Heart recipient! His athletic accomplishments as a former football and track star at S-G have stood the test of time. Bud’s son Gary was at the ceremony to accept the award on his behalf.

2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee from the class of 2018 is six-year varsity wrestling starter in a male dominated sport from 2012-2018, Hailey Finn. At S-G, she tallied a career record of 117 wins against 54 losses.

2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Rebecca Sherck, formerly known as multiple school record-holder Becky White from the class of 2001. She was a standout cross-country, indoor and outdoor track and field athlete.

  • Played semi-pro baseball in 1938
  • Drafted by the US Army, served 2 years as Drill Instructor and promoted to Platoon Sergeant where he fought on several fronts including, the West African Theater, Battle of the Bulge, and D-Day Plus 15.
