Dear SG Families,
We’re excited to announce the relaunch of ParentSquare and introduce StudentSquare, a companion program designed to enhance communication within our school district!
ParentSquare: Reconnect and Stay Informed
ParentSquare is a secure communication platform that allows us to share important information, updates, and announcements directly with you. Whether it’s upcoming school events, classroom activities, or important district news, ParentSquare is the place to find it all!
Here’s what you can expect:
- Relaunch & Re-Engagement: If you haven’t used ParentSquare before, you’ll be receiving a separate email or text message invitation to register by Monday, November 18th at 8:00am. This invitation will come from ParentSquare and will use your contact information found in PowerSchool.
- Features of ParentSquare:
-
-
- Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
- Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Direct message teachers and staff
- Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
- Sign forms & permission slips, sign up to volunteer
. . . all in one centralized place!
-
- Update Your Information: If your contact information in PowerSchool is outdated, please contact your child’s school directly to ensure you receive all important updates. If you have not been receiving ParentSquare communication or you did not receive an invite to register with ParentSquare please contact your child’s school.
New Feature: Introducing StudentSquare for Students in Grades 6-12
For students in grades 6-12, we’re excited to introduce StudentSquare! This companion platform to ParentSquare allows students to receive important information directly, including:
- Athletics & Clubs: Stay updated on practice schedules, announcements, and activities.
- Building Announcements: Receive information and updates from your school’s principal and administrators.
- District News: Get the latest news on snow days, special events, and districtwide announcements from the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Students don’t need to take any action to receive communication and updates from StudentSquare. Announcements from SG that are posted to StudentSquare will also appear in students’ district-issued Gmail accounts. This creates a safe communication platform between staff and students, keeping parents in the loop as well. Students will not receive text messages through this platform, however, if they’d like to receive push notifications directly to their phones, they can optionally download the free ParentSquare/StudentSquare app using the QR code included in this newsletter (see below).
Important Note: Coaches and club advisors will be required to communicate with students through StudentSquare, and will also include parents in these communications where applicable.
