Scotia-Glenville Central School District has been honored with the prestigious Sportsmanship Promotion Program Award for the 2023-24 school year. This recognition places Scotia-Glenville among five schools celebrated for their exceptional efforts in promoting good sportsmanship. It was presented by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

“I am very proud of the students, coaches, and the community for their combined efforts to promote good sportsmanship in the S-G athletic programs,” said Physical Education and Athletics Director Jamian Rockhill, CAA. “We had a mission last year to Live in Sportsmanship and this honor helps assure us that mission was accomplished by using our Tartan Teamwork, the 1 Tartan Way. We do recognize that there is still work to be done and look forward to building on that in 2024-25,” he said.

The Scotia-Glenville community is excited to build on this success and further promote sportsmanship and citizenship in the coming school year. The theme for this year is Athletes Promoting Sportsmanship Through Citizenship, which emphasizes mental wellness, inclusion, and responsible citizenship within the community.

Superintendent Susan Swartz added, “This award reflects our commitment to fostering an environment where sportsmanship and citizenship go hand in hand. We are incredibly grateful for being recognized for embodying these values and look forward to continuing this important work.”
