Talent and teamwork propel Tartan cheerleaders to states

After winning the Section 2 Class B title, Scotia-Glenville’s cheer team is heading to showcase their talents at the state competition. The second annual Game Day Cheer State Championship will take place at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, Sunday, Nov. 10.

With returning members from last year’s squad, which narrowly missed the 2023 state qualification as runners-up, they aimed resolutely at clinching the sectional title this year. At the Game Day Cheerleading Sectionals in Albany last weekend, we witnessed the Tartans face five formidable contenders in the Class B division: Mohonasen, Hudson Falls, Troy, Burnt Hills, and South Glens Falls.

“The team poured their hearts into their preparations after their last competition before sectionals on October 27th, and they delivered their finest routine yet at sectionals! Coach Iwan and I are immensely proud of the team’s achievements this season. We are filled with excitement to represent Section 2 for Class B at states,” Coach Kristen Roddy said.
