Local Fire Departments Visit Glendaal Elementary for Fire Prevention Day!

Glendaal Elementary was filled with excitement today as local firefighters paid a special visit to teach students all about fire safety! Members from the Glenville Hill, Beukendaal, and West Glenville Fire Departments joined together to host hands-on, engaging activities designed to build fire safety awareness and foster strong connections between students and community heroes.

Grade-Level Safety Assemblies

Students gathered for age-appropriate instructional assemblies where firefighters shared vital fire safety tips. The emergency responders talked about calling 9-1-1, what to do if you see or smell fire and some other live saving tips. Hands-On Truck & Equipment Exploration

The highlight for many was heading outdoors to get an up-close look at the fire engines! Students had the opportunity to:
  • Climb inside and explore the fire trucks.
  • Check out the wide variety of rescue apparatus and specialized tools.
  • Ask local firefighters questions about how everything works on the scene.
