Scotia-Glenville Athletic Hall of Fame Brunch

An unforgettable morning in Tartan country! Earlier today, Scotia-Glenville High School hosted the annual Scotia-Glenville Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony along with coaches, administrators, and community members. They celebrated an extraordinary new class of athletes.

The event was a huge success, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and proud community members to honor those who have left an indelible mark on Scotia-Glenville athletics.

Honoring Our Finest Tartans

The Scotia-Glenville Athletic Hall of Fame exists to recognize outstanding athletic careers defined not only by stats and championships, but by character, citizenship, commitment, leadership, and perseverance.

This morning’s inductees embody the true spirit of Scotia-Glenville. To be considered for this prestigious honor, each nominee met strict criteria:

  • Time & Dedication: Graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School at least four years ago (or earned special recognition consideration for exceptional service).

  • Character First: Demonstrated exemplary citizenship and strong moral character both on and off the field.

  • Distinction in Sport: Achieved outstanding success within the Scotia-Glenville athletic program and beyond.

A Legacy of Excellence

Throughout the ceremony, speakers highlighted the remarkable achievements of this year's inductees, whose accomplishments include:

Karley Brooks Heffner - Karley was a 7 time HS All American swimmer who specialized in the backstroke and individual medley events. She held (and still holds) pool records in upstate NY and surrounding areas. Karley went on to attend University of Georgia.

Daniel Zeglen - Dan was a Baseball 4 year varsity starter (captain junior and senior year). He had a career record of 18-5 as a starting pitcher and batting average over .300. Dan also played football as a 3 year varsity starter as QB, linebacker and defensive back. Quote from HOF Football Coach Tony DiCocco, “Dan Zeglen is the best quarterback to ever play at Scotia-Glenville”. Dan went on to play baseball at RIT.

She finished her HS career with 74 goals and 47 assists (3rd all time scoring record in SGHS girls soccer history). She went on to play for St. Rose and made it to the final four in division 2 soccer while playing there. She is currently attending University of Texas at Austin for her PHD in Nuclear Engineering.
